Project TITLIS

Engelberg, Switzerland /

Stand valley station, support 1, Titlis mountain station, tunnel section (connecting corridor). Bergbahnen Engelberg-Trübsee-Titlis AG is planning to build a single-track reversible aerial tramway (Line II) from Stand to Titlis, which will be designed for transporting materials and as a redundant lift for transporting passengers. The open valley station Stand (without supporting structure and building envelope) will be built to the south of the existing station building as a structurally independent building. The closed Titlis mountain station (open on the valley side) of the new aerial tramway line II is located approx. 70 metres below the existing mountain station of Line I (Rotair). The connection to the Titlis Rotair mountain station will be provided by an underground connecting passageway (passenger and goods transport, stairs). Goods are transported by the existing gondola lift or the existing cable car. The goods are transported by the existing cable car resp. Trübsee-Stand cable car. Goods handling will be carried out using a single girder crane and a transfer platform to the valley station of the new aerial tramway Line II. The aerial tramway Line II will be used primarily in operating phase 1 as a material ropeway (with passenger transport for operating and construction personnel) for the construction of the new Titlis Rotair mountain station (total vehicle weight max. 5.2 tonnes with underload transport).
