Hotel Silvretta Alpin – 4th basement floor

Ischgl, Austria / 06.2018 - 10.2018

Goidinger Bau has added a fourth basement floor to the Hotel Silvretta Alpin in Ischgl. The rebuilding of the existing building's foundations was complicated by the presence of groundwater and extremely limited space.

The first step of the project, securing the hotel building, was followed by excavation works. Next, the Goidinger Bau team shored the structure with jetcrete and piles using the pilgrim step method. This was followed by soil excavation and concrete demolition within the building. The final stage of this unusual hotel construction project consisted of undermining the passenger and goods elevators and moving them deeper underground.

Rebuilding foundations with the pilgrim step method.

Our specialists invested a great deal of effort within a short construction period and in extremely limited space. They were all the happier to complete the project successfully in October 2018. The new basement floor of the well-known sports and luxury hotel now houses storage areas, a plant room, a boiler room and a wine cellar.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
