PORR and Hinteregger plan their joint future

Vienna/Salzburg, 15 May 2017 – PORR and the family owners of the long-standing Salzburg company Hinteregger have today concluded a basic agreement on a possible joint future. In concrete terms, G. Hinteregger & Söhne Baugesellschaft m.b.H. could become an independent part of the PORR Group. The two companies are ideally suited in a variety of ways – from their technical expertise to decades of experience in realising complex construction projects through to their high quality standards. In parallel, 100% of the shares in the DYWIDAG Group should be transferred to the ownership of the G.Klaus Hinteregger family. The merger is subject to approval by the responsible competition authorities.

“The service range and corporate culture of Hinteregger are an ideal fit for us and would boost each of us even more as a full service provider. The merger will be a meeting of equals and Hinteregger will become an independent part of PORR”, said Karl-Heinz Strauss, CEO of PORR. “Our teams already know each other well from joint projects and enjoy mutual respect. Of course, we would continue with the well-established Hinteregger name, so that we can continue to nurture the longstanding tradition and existing customer relationships well into the future”.

This transaction appeals to the G.Klaus Hinteregger family for two key reasons:  The Hinteregger business and its acclaimed team is in good hands with PORR. With the 100% interest in the DYWIDAG Group, which focuses on building construction and industrial engineering, the foundations have also been laid for the ongoing successful future of the DYWIDAG Group.

Hinteregger: more than a century of experience

Impressive examples include the contribution to building more than 49 run-of-river and high-alpine power plants and erecting more than 481 km of gallery, road and rail tunnels.
In 2016 the corporate group generated production output of around EUR 220m and currently employs around 850 staff.
