West-East Connection (WOV), Lot East

Within the framework of the regional overall traffic concept for the Lower Reuss Valley (rGVK UR), the west-east connection between the Wysshus traffic circle and Gotthardstrasse is an important main traffic axis. Through a new traffic routing, the settlement areas are to be bypassed from transit.

The west-east link specifically enhances the transport network of the Urner Talboden and enables a new transport system that is important for the future development of the canton. This is achieved by combining a planned A2-half-connection Altdorf Süd in the Attinghausen area with a west-east connecting road along the Schächen.

Traffic relief and accessibility.

The contract of PORR SUISSE AG includes the following constructions:

  • Bridge over the river Schächen (construction only possible in winter when the water level is low)
  • About 380 meters of road construction from the bridge in the direction of Schattdorf
  • Emergency access from traffic circle East to RUAG industrial park
  • Flood protection measures (adaptation of the secondary dam with flood culvert under the new stretch of road)

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
