Kristiansand, Norway / 04.2017 - 04.2020

Varoddbrua is a 654m long and 19m wide, free-standing bridge that was built between the two existing bridges over Topdalsfjorden. In this connection, a new pedestrian and bicycle path system was also part of the project, and the old Varodd bridge from 1956 got demolished once the new bridge was completed.

Construction and demolition of bridges in Kristiansand

As the main contractor, PNC Norge infrastructure’s work also included the construction of three pedestrian and cycle bridges in steel, conversion of culvert, rebuilding of pavement, railings and signs, noise shield, as well as water- and wastewater systems.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
