Sustainable security and administrative centre
The project was carried out between March 2022 and June 2024 on behalf of ARE Austrian Real Estate GmbH. The complex comprises a total of seven buildings, with two existing structures being retained and extensively refurbished. Today, the site accommodates around 1,000 staff from the Tyrol Provincial Police Directorate, the Cobra Special Operations Unit and other police departments.
Particular attention was paid to sustainability and energy efficiency. In addition to green new buildings, district heating and groundwater are utilised for energy supply. The modern façade design further supports the high requirements for functionality, safety and durability.
Alu-Sommer was responsible for the planning, production and installation of extensive façade and metalwork. This includes 5,700 m² of curtain wall façade in a striking ‘second skin’ design, 5,200 m² of perforated windows and window bands, as well as 5,000 m² of rear-ventilated façades and cladding. The work was complemented by 2,800 m² of soffit cladding, 2,100 m² of sun protection systems, 825 m² of mullion-transom façades, fire-resistant roofs, façade bridges, high-speed doors and standard doors.
The Tyrol Security Centre thus serves as a prime example of efficient administrative architecture, where architectural quality, sustainable construction and technical precision come together in perfect harmony.
