Value creation from project development to turnkey implementation

The new Tool-Tec industrial facility was built in Heiligenkreuz im Lafnitztal, in southern Burgenland near the Styrian-Burgenland border and directly on the new Fürstenfeld S7 expressway. The project is part of the Heiligenkreuz business park and sets standards for modern industrial architecture and sustainable construction. The approximately 8,000 m² plant was constructed using prefabricated reinforced concrete elements – a decision that enabled a short construction period and high precision. Due to the geological conditions, the foundation was laid using around 450 concrete pile columns, each with a depth of approximately seven metres. Panel façades and a lightweight warm roof system, which ensures both stability and dismantlability, ensure a weight-optimised and resource-saving construction method. The construction method combines functionality, durability and sustainability in an ideal way.

Particular highlights of the project are the central sandblasting plant and the paint shop, which is accessed via a rail system, both of which were constructed using solid semi-precast elements. These facilities were designed with a focus on maximum service life, efficiency and ease of maintenance – a clear statement of PORR's technical quality. The new plant also impresses in terms of sustainability: Energy is supplied by a biomass heating plant directly adjacent to the property. In addition, the entire roof area of the hall has been equipped with photovoltaic modules. All structural preparations have already been made for the future integration of an energy storage system to enable efficient use of surplus solar energy.

With the Tool-Tec Heiligenkreuz plant project, PORR has once again demonstrated its expertise in the comprehensive implementation of large-scale industrial projects – from conception and technical planning to turnkey handover. A project that combines innovation, sustainability and efficiency in an exemplary manner.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
