The Sibiu-Pitești Motorway is an integral part of the Trans-European Transport Network, in short TEN-T, more precisely of the Rhine-Danube Corridor, which crosses the Romanian territory from west to east in the direction Nădlac-Arad-Timișoara-Lugoj-Deva-Sibiu-Pitești-Bucharest-Constanța.

Securing connectivity
At the beginning of this project, the according Sibiu-Pitești Motorway sector was divided into five sections. For Section 1, with a length of 13.170km, the motorway route starts in the area of ​​Șelimbăr, at the junction with Sibiu Bypass. The motorway route crosses the localities of Șelimbăr and Tălmaciu to the southwest of the DN7 up to the Boița area. There a road junction is to be built, ensuring the connectivity of Sibiu-Pitești Motorway with the DN7 for the future.

- Two service spaces of type S1 at km 8.200 left, km 8.200 right
- A maintenance and coordination centre in the area of the Boița road junction
- A viaduct with 10 spans at km 10.470, at a length of 414.70m
- A viaduct with 8 spans at km 12.375, at a length of 651.40m
