Rüteli tunnel roofing

Mettmenstetten, Switzerland / 10.2005 - 03.2007

The roofing of the A4 tunnel at Rüteli in Mettmenstetten was completed by means of surface excavation. The tunnel, with its double-arch profile, is 422m long and 32m wide. Concreting was completed in the course of 28 one-week stages of 15m each. A 170m-long supporting wall was constructed to the east of the southern entrance to provide noise protection for the town of Mettmenstetten.
