Rock face protection, Ölberg, Axen

Brunnen, Switzerland / 10.2010 - 12.2011

In 2010, PORR was contracted to complete the preservation and securing of a 100m high, fissured rock face above the Axenstrasse and the railway line between Brunnen SZ and Flüelen UR. This project provided PORR's specialist teams with a unique challenge: works had to be completed with the aid of a 15-storey scaffold, and certain materials had to be air-lifted to the site by helicopter.

A clear case for specialists.

In this way, PORR succeeded in installing rock anchors over a distance of 500m, and fitting 700m2 of steel mesh netting, to provide lasting protection from rockfalls to the traffic passing beneath.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
