Renovation of A23 supporting wall in Laaerberg

Vienna, Austria / 12.2013 - 03.2014

PORR renovated four supporting walls of the Südosttangente (A23) at Höhe Laaerberg by building approximately 9,500 m permanent anchors. At the same time 2,000 m concrete walls were built, 21 km marking works were performed and 2,000 m rails were installed.

The PORR team carried out the work with the help of mobile units built on trucks with trailers, partially with special drilling equipment at a height of about 7 m.

All renovation works had to be carried out during the night between 20:00 and 05:00 without traffic interruptions. From 05:00 early in the morning, the drilling spots at the A23 were fully cleared and all lanes were once again released for the traffic.
