Waterproofing

NHT - Mitterweg, Innsbruck

Innsbruck, Austria / 10.2020 - 12.2020

In 2020, the property developer NEUE HEIMAT TIROL commissioned IAT GmbH with roof renovation works on two residential buildings at Mitterweg 157 and 159, near Innsbruck airport. The roof waterproofing from 1997 showed a large number of leaks. As a result, water penetrated through the roof, ingressing into the apartments.

The two existing green warm roofs had to be demolished down to the raw concrete ceiling to be replaced by a new roof structure.

The challenges of this project were the location of the residential buildings in the approach flight path of the Airport and the disposal of the old thermal insulation which had been classified as hazardous substance in laboratory testing. The technical reports for classifying the thermal insulation were drawn up by PORR Umwelttechnik GmbH.
