After completion of the securing measures on the Gotthard north ramp, PORR SUISSE AG has started the main works on the A2 motorway. In the section between Amsteg and Göschenen, the national road is being renewed on behalf of the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO).
The project includes the rehabilitation of the route, bridges and retaining walls as well as renovation work on galleries and tunnels.
Trassee
- New construction of surface and binder course over a length of approx. 13.9km
- New construction of vehicle restraint systems over a length of approx. 12.4km
Bridges/viaducts
- Replacement, reinforcement and repair of 20 bridges and viaducts
- Rock anchor work
- Replacement of roadway crossings at 9 bridges/viaducts
- Reconstruction of the superstructure bearing

Retaining walls
- Reinforcement of the retaining wall at the Höll FBNO lean-to viaduct with prestressed anchor
- Various maintenance measures with prestressed anchors on 8 retaining walls
