Bridge construction

Kasern Viaduct

Salzburg, Austria / 03.2011 - 09.2012

The contract for the new construction of the Kasern bridge included a major overhaul of the A1 Westautobahn motorway along a length of 2 km as well as the removal and new construction of two motorway bridges. Services from a wide range of specialist fields were required: bridge construction, steel construction, bridge equipment, road construction, asphalt laying, traffic control systems, injection work, anchoring, concrete pavements and bridge sealing. With this project, PORR once more underlined its positioning as a full service provider serving as a one-stop shop for complex infrastructure projects, perfectly implementing all tasks.

A clear run in the north of the city of Salzburg.

Apart from the railway tracks and roads running underneath the bridge as well as space limitations, this project presented great challenges, mainly due to the fact that train and road traffic was not to be interrupted during construction.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
