The Hochpunkt H project has created a modern residential high-rise in the new Franklin district of Mannheim, combining urban living, commercial space and communal usage concepts. The façade and metalwork carried out by Alu-Sommer make a significant contribution to the architectural quality and functionality of the building.

Striking residential high-rise in the Franklin district of Mannheim
Between June 2023 and May 2025, a residential building approximately 48 metres high, comprising rental and studio flats, nursery facilities, commercial units and communal gardens, was constructed on behalf of the ARGE Mannheim Hochpunkt H consortium. With its shape, the high-rise symbolises the letter “H” for “HOME” and forms part of a comprehensive urban development concept in the Franklin site in Mannheim-Käfertal.
Alu-Sommer was responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of the façade and window elements on the ground floor and first floor. The scope of work included 862 m² of mullion-transom constructions, 227 windows including pilaster strips and external blinds, as well as 46 doors, including access doors and automatic sliding doors. The system was complemented by folding-arm awnings to provide shade for the façade areas.
The high-quality façade solution complements the building’s modern architecture whilst creating bright, functional and energy-efficient interior spaces. The Hochpunkt H project is a prime example of innovative residential construction with an urban character and a high quality of living.
