Hamleys Toy Store Revitalisation

Hamleys, a London-based toy shop with a long and rich tradition, opened its first Central European branch in the centre of Prague. PORR took a leading role in this project with the contract to execute structural alteration works on the interior of the historic building.
Particular heritage-listed elements had to be considered in the reconstruction of the building. These included all the malleable sandstone façades along Na Příkopě and Panská Streets. The original entranceway and staircase were also to be preserved in the old style, as was a section of the original bank hall including a spacious lightwell, banisters and lighting.

We are building happiness for children.
The retail area of the new toy shop covers three storeys. The renovations incorporated the floors, dividing constructions, surface treatments, metalworks and fitting elements. The building technology, including electrical installations, also required modernising.
