Construction engineering A23 Hochstraße, Vienna-Inzersdorf

Vienna, Austria / 03.2015 - 08.2019

The construction scheme includes the removal and re-installation of an approx. 3.7km-long partial section of the A23, the Südost-Tangente Motorway in Vienna’s Inzersdorf area. The objects are removed in the course of different construction phases and gradually built anew. The contract includes the entire execution planning of the main section and ramps, the removal of existing structures and their reconstruction as well as embankment construction. In the process, traffic must be kept running by means of a temporary southward extension of the section. All of this is implemented in a total of 15 construction phases, whose conceptualisation and adjustment is also part of the contracted range of services.

New decking for Südost-Tangente Motorway

This project’s special challenges lie in the facts that work is to be performed on a heavy-traffic inner-city motorway and that limited daily work hours need to be adhered to within an extremely tight schedule. Furthermore, spatial restrictions on the development site require the optimum utilisation of available space for storage, crane operation and other purposes.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
