In the west of Arad, a city of 160,000 people, PORR realised a 12km bypass for improved accessibility and transport connections. The scope of work also included four motorway bridges and a 507m long bridge over the Mureș River.

The motorway section was drafted with a design speed of 100km/h.

Six lanes over the Mureș River.

The motorway’s target width was 26m and four main lanes of 3.75m each as well as two emergency lanes of 4m each were executed. Building four motorway bridges was also part of this infrastructure and road construction project, with the 507m long bridge over the Mureș being the most impressive single structure.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
