140 nursing beds for Horn

PORR was responsible for the construction of the Horn Care Home in its role as general contractor. The building consists of four wings and three storeys housing eight residential groups with a total of 140 beds and nine hospice rooms. In addition to the residential space, the care home consists of a central area with a foyer, a chapel, administrative facilities, therapy rooms, waiting areas and bathroom facilities. The building boasts total residential space of 3,605m².

The construction period for the project, which was built to ÖNORM B1600, took just 18 months. The special groundwater features made it necessary for the basement to be realised using the “black tank” method. The load-bearing walls consist of reinforced concrete with brickwork, while the partition walls were built as drywall constructions. Furthermore, the building has a wooden facade with full heating insulation elements.
